With my 40th birthday approaching, I thought it would be fun to do something to help mark the dawn of a new decade. A little quirky, a little memorable. So naturally…I got my Birth Chart read!
This is my very first time getting a reading done, and to be honest, I know very little about the zodiac except that I’m a calm, cool, and collected Libra and my husband is a fiery Leo (ha;-) I went into the experience with a very blank slate and a very open mind.
The fabulous Kathleen from Divinely You and I met via Zoom and for the next hour she proceeded to pour absolutely fascinating information out. Pivotal dates to be aware of, reoccurring numbers to be on the lookout for, one-word themes I need to embrace. I won’t go into the entire thing here, but I did want to share my key takeaways that I’ll use going into my 40th trip around the sun. Look out for these things if you get a reading done (or maybe do your own?!), too!
1. Pay attention to where the planets fall.
I’m what the astrologers call “a bundle”. With all my planets being in 4 signs, this has both pros and cons (although Kathleen did emphasize that it’s important to pay attention to the pros when it comes to astrology.) The pros are that I have super clear focus in most areas since I have virtually no opposition in my chart, meaning that I often channel my energy into one direction that I view as very valuable. However, this can also be a struggle because I can have a hard time understanding when others don’t have the same laser focus, and there’s a host of issues I’m just completely unaware of because it doesn’t come onto my radar that I should even care about them. Basically, I’m passionate about what I’m passionate about and don’t give much mind to things that fall outside that circle. Kathleen talked about how I should recognize my blind spots and get super curious about them. I LOVED how she phrased that! Fun fact: if your planets are in lots of different signs, this most likely means you are very well versed and interested in many different things!
2. Houses are super relevant and can help reveal your Dharma.
Many of my planets fall in the 12th house, which is the house of spirituality and Big Purpose. She said this is a huge theme in my life, and that my spiritual practice is a guiding force—that my dharma falls in this house and has something to do with healing. I felt this.
3. Definitely pay attention and learn about your ascending/rising sign, because it will help you understand how people see you.
I learned that, while my sun sign is Libra (your sun sign/zodiac sign standing for your identity, or light you shine into the world), my ascending/rising sign is Scorpio, and this is important to be aware of because it’s how others see you. Independent, guarded, relentless, loyal, with a passion for examining the underbelly of life. Wow, I made it almost 40 years identifying as a super well balanced Libra who loves all things beauty and love, but really I’m outwardly projecting a love of serial killer books and an “I want to retreat into my own headspace” attitude?! Ha! But if I’m being honest—I can totally see it;-) It was a nice reminder that how we view ourselves is not always how we come across to others.
This was such a fun chat! If you want to get in touch with Kathleen to get your own Birth Chart Reading, you can book right here. All you need is your time of birth, date of birth, and place of birth. She’ll plug it all into the chart and then explain what it all means in the context of your life.
Did you do anything special to mark a milestone birthday? Would love to hear, either in the comments or via email!
A Little Something Hygge
There’s a tiny little store in NYC called Enchantments that does custom candles to help you with manifestation—-complete with bath salts, glitter, and a special carving of whatever your intention is. I received this yellow one as a birthday gift (which felt super appropriate since I’m working on balancing my solar plexus chakra, aka the yellow chakra)—the instructions say to light it on your birthday, take a cleansing bath with your sunshine bath salts, set your intention for the year ahead, and then let it burn straight through until the flame finally goes out—about a week! What a memorable experience!
A Cozy Quote To Leave You With

Building a tiny-ish house for my 50th! On a 1 acre size land in a very small town of 6k! Very artistic, yogi, vegeterian and nature lover friendly! 🙏🧡
